Kiwi Potion Merchant Concept

Creative Process

This was one of the first characters I ever made, and as such the art is a bit on the weaker side. But I really fell in love with this character. I imagine him as skulking around town with a sort of intimidating aura. Adventurers that actually attempt to do business with him will find he’s actually a very kind, and jolly guy with a Russian accent. He’s like the kind guy that you go the bar with. Since he’s a Kiwi, he doesn’t have any hands, so he instead uses magical gauntlets as manipulators and his long beak as a pipet when he’s mixing potions. Admittedly the magic gauntlets aren’t really communicated very well in this piece. I’ve been thinking about replacing them with some robotic arms that he wears around his waist.
